NEW HAVEN POLICE AND LIVABLE CITY INITIATIVE SHUT DOWN ILLEGAL NIGHT CLUB

(11/9/2007) NEW HAVEN- Shortly after 10:30 Thursday evening, New Haven Police arrested Isaiah Mullings for operating an illegal night club. Officers assisted in a raid of the location at 590 George Street with inspectors from the Livable City Initiative and the New Haven Fire Department. Mullings was charged with 27 counts of reckless endangerment. In August of 2006 Mullings was arrested for operating a night club at the same location without appropriate permits. In court for the 2006 incident, Mullings signed an agreement stating that he would cease operation of the club until he had fulfilled all requirements and received necessary approvals. Fire Marshall Joseph Cappucci also encountered propane heaters at the location during the inspection, a significant fire code violation.
